Notes: The name is taken in recent years by a nearby riverside pub in SW11 (see separate entry). The name "Nine Elms" may originally have come from this tavern, and as the name is first attested in c1645 in relation to a brewhouse and farm in the area (according to the "Survey of London"), the pub may date to this time.
