Notes: | The Survey of London suggest that evidence points to an open date in the "last quarter of the 18th century" rather than the one given by the pub itself, but the site was the location of the larger "Castle" pub (or "Castell upon Hope") until c1770, at which point it was rebuilt and possibly renamed. |
