Notes: There is a "Gun" listed in the 1789 Sun Fire Office insurance records as "corner of Cross Street, Lambeth Road", which was later named Joiners Place and then Joiner Street, the same location as the "St George's Tavern" is located, so this must have been an earlier name. In a couple of records (a will of 1815 and a Sun Fire Office record of 1837) there is a "Gun Tavern" on London Road very nearby, so this may be a confusion or a vaguery of street naming at the time, so may perhaps have been the same pub.
