Notes: | The Survey of London notes that Swan St was formed from part of the inn yard, which is labelled on Rocque's 1746 map as White Swan Coach Yard (and later Swan Yard on Horwood's 1799 map). The pub was presumably rebuilt when Great Dover Street and Swan Street were constructed (taking the line of Swan Yard from Blackman Street, then turning towards the south along the line of Swan St). |
